The 1st Annual Alex Dees Memorial Foundation Team Roping Classic was held on the Birthday of Alex Dees, January 20, 2018, at the Sheriff’s Posse Arena in Yuma, AZ. Alex Dees was best known as a cattleman, but was called “Cowboy”, by many who knew him as he could do anything western related, including roping and raising ranch/rope horses. Alex Dees spent quality family time with his sons roping throughout Arizona.
Team Roping is a fun competition that brings family and friends together who enjoy the western lifestyle and livestock. It was only fitting to start an annual roping event to honor Alex Dees and raise money for the Foundation to carry out its mission. Every January the Alex Dees Memorial Foundation Team Roping Classic is held around Alex Dees Birthday to celebrate his memory. Since 2018 the event has grown in popularity with a record number of teams competing for Championship buckles. In conjunction with the roping a silent auction takes place and quality items are available for bid.
Please join us each January for a great time in remembering Alex Dees and supporting the community. Sponsorship opportunities are available to advertise your company and products. Contact us for more information on how you can help or volunteer your time at the event, and contribute in a non-financial capacity.
