Western Tea

The First Annual Western Tea was held on November 3, 2018 at Union Institutional Baptist church in Phoenix, AZ. The Tea is traditionally held on the first Saturday in November. The Ladies on the Board of Directors, along with family and friends started the Tea as fundraiser for more ladies to be involved. Alex Dees enjoyed attending and supporting many different community events.

Tea production was an intensely guarded secret for hundreds of years in the hilly subtropical and tropical transitional forests of Southeast Asia, predominantly China, to which the tea plant is native. As trade routes were established between Asian lands and the West, tea made its way to Middle Eastern, European, African and finally American societies (Destination Tea.com). Women’s clubs, charities, suffragist groups, and alumni associations hold teas in tearooms and at home, as meetings and fundraisers (Destination Tea.com). In conjunction with the Tea a silent auction takes place where quality items are available for bid.

Please join us each November for a great time in remembering Alex Dees and supporting the community. Sponsorship opportunities are available to advertise your company and products. Contact us for more information on how you can help or volunteer your time at the event, and contribute in a non-financial capacity.
